SHV Energy

SHV Energy is the largest dedicated global LPG distributor. SHV Energy operates in 27 countries, employs 13,500 people, has a turnover of over € 5 billion and provides LPG to tens of millions of customers. As part of SHV it belongs to a family owned organisation that has supplied energy to businesses and consumers for over 100 years. SHV is also currently active in developing a variety of renewable energy technologies through its subsidiary, The Clean Energy Company.

LPG

LPG is a naturally occurring product of the natural gas extraction process. It is also an automatic result of the oil refining production process. As a low carbon, low polluting fossil fuel, it is recognised by Governments around the world for the contribution it can make towards improved indoor and outdoor air quality and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. This provides society with substantial advantages when it is used as a substitute for petrol, diesel, heating oil or most solid fuels. In rural areas where the inherent inefficiency of centralised electricity production is most pronounced, LPG can offer substantial CO2 emission reductions for many applications. LPG is widely available and is becoming more so due to the increase in natural gas fields coming on line around the world.

LPG can be used for hundreds of commercial and domestic applications. SHV Energy is proud to lead the way in developing existing and new markets for LPG around the world through effective innovation, education and promotion strategies.

LPG Specialist

As the leading distributors of LPG we have a worldwide strategic storage and distribution infrastructure. This, and keeping our decision-making as close to our clients as possible, with as many key decisions as possible being delegated to the country level, enables us to provide first-class service to all our customers. Transferring know-how and sharing best practices between established and developing markets ensures that we can provide tailor-made answers to customers’ needs.

We constantly upgrade quality and safety management standards from supply to storage and distribution and we are a member of the World LP Gas Association and the AEGPL.

Global activities

Tens of million customers worldwide use the well-known SHV Energy brands that include Primagaz, Calor Gas, Liquigas, Super Gas, Ipragaz and Minasgás. We operate in 21 European countries as well as in Brazil, Turkey, Philippines, China, India and Pakistan. The head office of SHV Energy is in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.

SHV Energy is a subsidiary of SHV Holdings N.V., a Dutch privately owned company with more than a century of experience in energy markets. The group’s current activities include:
