We are also exploring sustainable fuels, including dimethyl ether (also called rDME), hydrogen and future fuels, such as ammonia, methanol, and novel e-fuels.
LPG is a gas easily stored in liquid form in small, medium, or large containers. It is commonly used in gaseous form and can power normal gas appliances, such as cookers, heaters, and boilers. In rural areas, it can provide a self-contained source of gas for a variety of applications.
LPG can help to realize significant carbon savings, particularly when it replaces higher carbon fuels, such as coal or heating oil. LPG is used in many parts of the world to power vehicles and, in developing countries, to replace hazardous solid fuel for cooking stoves.
LNG (liquefied natural gas) is natural gas refrigerated to a very low temperature and stored as a liquid. It has been reduced to a liquid state by a process of cooling to a temperature of minus 162°C. Once it reaches the receiving facility, the LNG is transferred to special storage tanks. It is kept there in liquid form at near atmospheric pressure and at temperatures of minus 160°C. It remains in storage until required for redelivery.
A growing part of our energy portfolio is composed of sustainable fuels, which are produced from renewable and/or alternative feedstocks that are sustainably sourced.
Our strategy for sustainable development over the next 20 years is to ensure that the source and supply of our clean, safe, and efficient gas products become increasingly renewable, biobased, and lower carbon.
We are committed to offering solutions that support our customers in their energy transition. Energy efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to reduce greenhouse gases. Distributed energy generation helps our customers with on-site renewable energy.
