SHV Energy recognised at the European Liquid Gas Congress 2025

6/2/2025

SHV Energy received four awards at the 2025 European Liquid Gas Congress (ELGC), held in Katowice, Poland. Organised by Liquid Gas Europe, the ELGC is the leading annual event for the European liquid gas sector. It brings together stakeholders from across the value chain to exchange knowledge, explore innovation, and discuss the role of liquid gases in the energy transition.

This year’s Congress also marked the first edition of theAWARDS, a new initiative launched to celebrate excellence in leadership, innovation, sustainability, and renewable energy within the sector. The awards were presented during the Congress’s formal dinner event, recognising individuals and organisations whose work is helping to shape the future of liquid gas in Europe.

SHV Energy was recognised in four categories:

  • Leader Award: Esther Busscher (SHV Energy) was recognised for her leadership in sustainable development and her long-standing commitment to advancing the sector. She is known for mentoring emerging leaders across the business.

  • Innovator Award: Mary Coughlin (Calor Ireland) received the award for her work in developing new customer-centric solutions, including digital tools that improve service delivery and support the transition to lower-carbon energy.

  • Sustainable Driver Award: Josh Barr (Calor Ireland) was recognised for leading initiatives that have strengthened ESG performance, including the development of transparent reporting frameworks and community engagement programmes.

  • Renewable Pioneer Award: GASPOL received this award for enabling their customer Osada Karbówko to adopt a combination of bioLPG, gas heat pumps, and cogeneration systems—demonstrating a practical and replicable model for reducing emissions in hospitality and tourism.
In addition to the awards, SHV Energy participated in several panel discussions during the Congress, contributing to conversations on renewable liquid gases and the importance of collaboration across the energy value chain.
