The new, large-capacity greenfield facility is located close to the company’s Tuticorin LPG import terminal. Built to Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) 144 standards and SHV Energy’s Health, Safety and Environment requirements, the plant includes two 125-MT storage vessels, an automatic carousel system, an online manual filling system, and an annual production capacity of more than 51,000 MT. It also features automatic fire-fighting systems, solar power, an effluent treatment plant, cylinder painting facilities, and upgraded infrastructure to support future capacity increases.
The plant was officially opened on 8 August 2025 at a ceremony attended by the SUPERGAS Management Board and colleagues from across the company, along with project partners and franchisees.
“This facility is a significant milestone for SUPERGAS as we continue to strengthen our presence in southern India,” said Ajay Sanghi, CEO of SUPERGAS. “It reflects our commitment to providing safe, reliable and sustainable energy to our customers, while investing in infrastructure that supports future growth.”
Brazil’s agribusiness sector is undergoing a dynamic transformation, and SHV Energy’s local business unit, Supergasbras, is helping lead the charge.
