To support UP's sustainable growth ambitions, SunSource Energy successfully commissioned a 45 MWp (offsite) open-access solar power project. This project is one of the largest solar open access projects in UP where over 130,000 solar panels have been installed across 164 acres of land. This project will supply clean power to nine leading corporations for a period of 25 years, helping them and the state of UP with their net-zero targets. This includes India's largest bottlers of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, a leading metal company, RSPL Group β a leading FMCG conglomerate in India, and Taj Hotel, among others.
The SunSource UP open-access project will offset over 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime, equivalent to planting 3 million trees. The project required deployment of over 250 people for its construction and was successfully executed while clocking over 300,000 safe man-hours. The land used in the development of this project has been leased from multiple local owners, creating a steady cash flow stream to local communities for more than two decades without changing land ownership patterns. SunSource Energy is also working towards developing 1GW of solar projects across different states in India.
